When it comes to Raheem DeVaughn, learn to expect the unexpected.
The Grammy-nominated Best Male R&B singer, who opens for Jill Scott at the Orpheum on Sunday, has won over fans and critics by embodying the traditional sensibilities of the old-school set.
But when the music stops, DeVaughn is busy making his own lane. He says he'd like to work with artists as diverse as James Blunt and Jay-Z. He calls those who have yet to witness his live performances virgins and readily encourages music fans to lose their virginity.
