Oct. 17--The University of Minnesota for the first time has ventured into the brave new world of World Wide Web regulation.
A new policy developed by the university intends to regulate information published electronically on the Web so that pornography or other "offensive" material is not linked in any way to the university's home page on the Web.
The policy also requires disclaimers on home pages saying that the contents have not been approved by the university and express views only of the page author. These disclaimers will be put on all home pages automatically.
The World Wide Web is a part of the Internet, and "home pages" are places on the Web ...
