Article: KOMATSU AND MANNESMAN DEMAG SIGN UP FOR A JOINT VENTURE

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Komatsu Ltd. and Mannesmann Demag AG signed an agreement on November 7, 1995, to establish a joint venture for the development, manufacture and marketing of large and super-large hydraulic excavators for mining and quarrying applications. The new company, Demag-Komatsu GmbH, to be created as of January 1, 1996, will be formed with the German partner spinning-off its hydraulic excavator division and Komatsu taking an equity position in the new entity. The transaction is subject to consent of the relevant anti-trust authority.
