That impossible-to-pronounce German word, Vergnuegen, means pleasure in English. And U.S. food and beverage sales to Germany have been a particular pleasure in recent years for two different groups:
* German consumers, who are showing a marked enthusiasm for the casual, experimental, fun approach to eating represented by U.S. foods; and
* U.S. exporters, who have seen their sales of food and beverage products climb roughly a third in the past five years. In fact, Germany was the No. 8 market for U.S. consumer-oriented products in fiscal 1994.
