The National Professional Committee (NPC) of Unite/CPHVA passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in the NMC at its last meeting, following the recent decision to require specialist community public health nurses (SCPHNs) to maintain their original nursing or midwifery registration.
NPC chair Angela Roberts has written to NMC president Nancy Kirkland outlining the reasons for the vote and asking for guarantees of maintained separate and equal recognition for SCPHNs within NMC processes and structures.
