These images are part of a photographic inquiry into the significance of the Merri Creek as a site of shifting cultural histories and agendas. Where such histories and politics converge, an uncertain, transitional landscape emerges. From the initial attempt at remodelling the landscape as an idealised image of a European homeland to the current push to return to the creek area to a native ecology, for over a century Merri Creek has been in a state of constant transformation.
