In an industry that is estimated to be nearly $16 billion a year, the market for recreational vehicles (RVs) has continued to climb over the last several years. And while sales have suffered because of recent economic conditions, as the Baby Boom generation begins to retire in greater numbers, RV sales are expected to increase accordingly.

According to a recent study by the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center, one in every 12 families in the United States that owns a vehicle owns an RV--representing around 8 million families. This is a 58% increase since 1980.
