THE Wales Air Ambulance faces a pounds 4m annual bill to upgrade its three helicopters to new-generation models. The charity, which relies on donations to maintain the life-saving service, will today launch its pound appeal - urging everyone in Wales to donate pounds 1 towards the cost of the new helicopters.
It is hoped that they will be operational in Wales by 2009.
