Previous BMS Lawsuit Filed Against Wrong Parties
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Rhone-Poulenc Rorer S.A. filed a patent infringement lawsuit in Federal District Court in Delaware on October 18th regarding Taxol(R). RPR believes strongly that BMS is infringing RPR's patent rights to intermediates and processes that are used in BMS' research and manufacture of taxoids.
Rhone-Poulenc Rorer S.A., a French corporation, is the owner of all the patent rights in U.S. Patent reissue No. 34,277. Rhone-Poulenc Rorer S.A. previously obtained the rights to the No. 34,277 patent from Centre de National Recherche Scientifique.
