Background
Surveys of medical and pharmacy students report that the majority of students welcome the inclusion of CAM education in the medical [1, 2, 3, 4] and pharmacy curricula [5, 6]. However, most of the studies indicated that students had insufficient knowledge to be able to recommend or counsel about CAM [1, 7]. Studies investigating the knowledge of pharmacy professionals also revealed that pharmacists generally rate their knowledge of CAM as inadequate and are not confident in answering patient enquiries [8, 9, 10, 11, 12].
