TAIPEI, March 14 Asia Pulse - Representatives of 17 public servants' groups from around Taiwan adopted a resolution at a symposium Thursday calling on the government to abolish the National Travel Card system that encourages civil servants to take subsidized vacations during weekdays.
The resolution, to be submitted to the Cabinet, says the current system deprives public servants of their right to choose and has turned them into "lambs ready for slaughter" by designated stores.
After signing the resolution, the participants in the symposium unfolded a bolt of cloth bearing the slogan: "We want dignity, not the National Travel Card."
