Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that has recently received considerable media interest. News programs have aired segments educating the public about IBC. Emails circulating on the Internet provide links to Web sites with information on IBC. Given the heightened public awareness surrounding this disease, health care providers should be well-informed on the presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of IBC.
