COULD the Western Isles have its very own National Park?
Debate across the country has been sparked following a decision by the North Harris Trust to write to everyone in Harris seeking views on the potential for a National Park in area.
Environment Minister, Mike Russell, said in the Scottish Parliament today that he would give consideration to the establishment of a national park on Harris, but that currently there was no money available to fund the setting up of new parks.
However, with the idea now on the table, the Rambler's association has urged the Government to officially consider it.
