New at bookstores is "The Berghoff Family Cookbook" ($29.95, Andrews McMeel Publishing), from the family that made the downtown Chicago restaurant a popular and beloved gathering spot for more than a century.
The Berghoff, as a classic and historic German restaurant, closed in 2006, but Berghoff cafes at O'Hare and Midway airports, 17/west at the Berghoff (a more contemporary restaurant) and the Berghoff Catering and Restaurant Group continue under the leadership of Carlyn Berghoff. She and her mother, Jan, are the cookbook authors.
