"What's the worst that could happen?" For security consultant Dave Gilmore, that's a serious question.

"It's a challenging field," he says of homeland security. "You're trying to find out the types of problems you're dealing with and how to solve these problems in advance. Typically, you have plans to deal with the more likely problems, but you can't prepare for every eventuality. You also need to be able to react."
