Report predicts number of organ and tissue transplants globally will top 115,000 by 2012.

Fueled by the number of increasing availability of live donor organs and transplant outcome success rates, the global organ and tissue transplantation market is projected to top 115,000, according to an analysis prepared by a market research company.

The report, which was prepared by Global Industry Analysis, Inc., also attributes the projected growth to the growing number of awareness programs aimed at eliminating misconceptions and fear of organ donation, and attitudinal changes in organ donation as a social responsibility, especially in deceased organ donation.
