Recalled batches of the blood thinner heparin are being blamed for more than 50 dialysis patients in 12 states coming down with allergic reactions in the past three months, according to the Associated Press. The outbreak, which could affect considerably more than 50, is being called the largest national outbreak of treatment-related allergic reactions ever seen in dialysis patients.
