FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., March 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BD Diagnostics, a segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) , today announced that a new study, "Universal Surveillance for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in 3 Affiliated Hospitals," published in Annals of Internal Medicine, demonstrates that universal surveillance of all hospital admissions for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) using the BD GeneOhm(TM) MRSA real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) diagnostic test can significantly reduce MRSA infection rates.
