Before the Syracuse University women's basketball team could move forward, before it could begin contemplating the NCAA Tournament, it had to go back, back to the Big East Conference where it was one-and-done.

South Florida defeated the Orange women in overtime in a first-round upset of last week's conference tournament in Hartford. The next day, Syracuse had its team meal and loaded onto the bus for the trip back to campus.

Head coach Quentin Hillsman, still smarting, turned to the assembled group and asked them, "Who thinks we should still be in the tournament?"

There was a unanimous show of hands.
