In an unconventional new partnership, Bristol Bay commercial fishermen have joined forces with the nation's largest coldwater fisheries conservation group, Trout Unlimited, to promote the eating of wild salmon from Bristol Bay as a way to protect the bay's wild salmon. The effort is a part of Trout Unlimited's WhyWild campaign.
As these unlikely partners are demonstrating, saving Bristol Bay's wild salmon from harmful industrial development is something all fishermen--sport, subsistence, and commercial--can agree on.
