LEGENDARY war photographer Philip Jones Griffiths from- Rhuddlan, best known for his coverage of the VietnamWar, has died at the age of 72.
His sensational career took him to more than 120 countries, covering everything from Buddhism in Cambodia, drought in India, poverty in Texas or the legacy of the Gulf war in Kuwait.
But it was as a war photographer that he made his name.
He has been the president of the world famous photography agency Magnum for five years, longer than anyone else who has filled the post.
He left Wales at 16, and lived in America for many years before settling in London.
