For James Spear, landing a distribution deal with high-end Italian coffee maker Mokarabia has helped him keep his sales perking.
Spear, president of Royal Oak-based King Coffee Tea Services and managing partner of Mokarabia USA, began distributing Mokarabia coffee in 2005 through a 50-50 joint venture with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based China Mist Tea Co.
Last year, U.S. sales of Mokarabia exceeded $1.2 million, Spear said. This year, he expects sales to exceed $2.5 million.
