MiG jets rejected by Algeria to go to Russian Air Force
ALGIERS/MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Air Force will receive fifteen MiG-29SMT fighter jets soon.
"After they return from Algeria, the MiG-29SMTs will be assigned to the Russian Air Force. The relevant decision has been made, according to our sources," a source in Algeria told Interfax-AVN on Monday.
No details have transpired on the terms of the planes' handover to the Russia Air Force. But modernization is not being considered, according to the source. "The planes will be handed over to the Russian Air Force in the modification delivered to Algeria - MiG-29SMT," he said.
