We didn't invent the six-word memoir, but we know a good thing when we see it.
Earlier this month we challenged P-I readers to build on the legacy of pithiness created by "Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure" (HarperPerennial, $12).
The plea was simple: Give us your life story - short and sweet. Nearly 100 of you rose to the occasion, with entries that are, by turns, pensive, whimsical, tongue-in-cheek and poignant.
"Bullies keep trying; I thrive anyway."
