IN THE 10 MONTHS SINCE THE EUREKA Springs City Council created a "domestic partnership registry," which allows even same-sex couples to obtain a public document recognizing their relationships, the Victorian hamlet in the shadow of the Christ of the Ozarks has attracted some serious flak.
Shortly after the registry was created last May, Don Wildmon, the founder and chief executive officer of the American Family Association, warned that this "could destroy the Eureka Springs tourist trade and hurt the local economy."
