The Gophers women's basketball team didn't hold its usual public pep rally to watch the NCAA tournament selection show Monday. No problem. Coach Pam Borton gave a glimpse of her team's reaction after the Gophers heard their name called.
"Hey, this is exciting," Borton screamed as she walked into the media room at Williams Arena.
Considered a bubble team leading up to the announcement, the Gophers didn't have to wait long to learn their fate. Minnesota found out 10 minutes into the show that it had received a No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 Texas at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Bridgeport, Conn. That's the good news. ...
