A Birmingham-based mother-of-three young children, I consider myself an activist who has been on an incredible journey from being a housewife to a Government adviser in the space of just three years.
Frustrated by the fact that the Government was only engaging with a few Muslim male leaders who themselves were out of touch with the Muslim communities, I set up Muslim Voice UK in April 2005. It was the UK's first Muslim online opinion polling organisation.
