AXEING junk food from hospital vending machines could sting charity fundraising which helps pay for vital medical equipment, volunteers fear.
Health minister Edwina Hart yesterday announced Wales will pioneer a ban on unhealthy snacks like chocolate and crisps in NHS vending machines.
Machines will either be ripped out over the next six months, or filled with healthy alternatives like fruit, under new anti-obesity guidelines.
But volunteers fear the move could sting charitable hospital funds raised through sales of chocolate, crisps and drinks.
