CHICAGO, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas W. Burke, MD, Executive Vice President and Physician-in-Chief at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, has been elected the 40th President of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) at the organization's 39th Annual Meeting, held March 9-12, 2008 in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Burke received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He served both his internship and residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, followed by a two-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center/Bethesda Naval Medical ...
