LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1995--NEC Electronics Inc. Monday introduced TransProcessor, an application-specific semiconductor product (ASSP) capable of a sustained data transfer rate of 2.5 megabytes-per-second (MBytes/sec) over parallel cable up to a distance of 100 meters (m).

In addition, NEC Electronics and Trans Digital Corp. jointly announced the Trans PC Card, a Type I PC Card (formerly known as PCMCIA cards) that combines the TransProcessor with embedded file transfer and data management software to demonstrate the chip's capabilities.
