FLYING Clarets earned a trip to Ireland and a crack at a Listed race at Dundalk after she led from start to finish in the Easter Handicap Stakes, the feature race on the opening day of Pontefract's 2008 season yesterday (writes Graham Orange).
Given a fine, tactical ride by Paul Hanagan, Flying Clarets (12-1) produced a brave performance to clinch the [pounds sterling]18,000 contest over one mile and a quarter by two and a half lengths from Eradicate at Tuesday's meeting.
Trained at Malton by Richard Fahey, Flying Clarets runs in the colours of Bradford City Football Club and this five-year-old mare now heads to Ireland to compete in the race won last ...
