Creole culture invades Eugene and Springfield this week.
There's something for the whole family as Oregon Shadow Puppet Theater presents "Puss in Boots, the Creole Cat" Sunday at Wildish Theater. Grown-ups can get into the act Thursday with a zydeco dance party at Rock 'n' Rodeo.
Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble, from Lafayette, La., will play for a rare, live zydeco dance in the Eugene club that once hosted a thriving swamp dance scene. In an effort to bring some of that tradition back, the first hour of the event is dedicated to instruction.
Of course, this is also the week we are all supposed to celebrate ...
