Pizza. Chicken nuggets. Cookies.
Ask any group of children to list their favorite foods and these three will no doubt land in the top 10.
But for children - and adults - with celiac disease, these foods, when made with gluten, are not only forbidden but dangerous.
Celiac disease, also known as celiac sprue, is a subject the Procopio family of Onondaga Hill received a crash course in five years ago.
Ryan Procopio, now 7, was diagnosed with the condition when he was two.
"He wasn't growing," said mom Julie Procopio, a registered dietician.
