Abstract: In this paper we will describe how mobile phones can be used inside monitoring and control systems. We will describe the architecture of such a system and the communication ways between the elements that form the system. Also, we will present the advantages of using mobile phones instead of other devices and the optimizations that could be implemented into the system.
