PARIS - The Lacoste family is squabbling, and sources here said descendants of French tennis star Ren Lacoste, who founded the sports lifestyle brand and created its popular insignia, have appointed a former French prime minister to resolve their fight.

The argument is said to have ignited soon after the death in 2006 of Bernard Lacoste, one of Ren Lacoste's sons, who helped grow the brand into a world-class player.
