Leyland cricket captain David Makinson is getting closer to recovering from an operation on his right hand in time for the new season.
The former Lancashire ace is hoping umpires will allow him to wear a padded glove so he can continue to play at the start of the season.
He said: "It should be all right in time for the new season and it is my right hand so it does not affect my bowling and I have not had problems with my batting.
"But I am going to have to ask the umpires whether I can use the glove I wore some seasons ago when the problem started. Otherwise I am just going to have to bandage it up."
But David is praying for better ...
