HMS Northumberland will visit North Shields next weekend in a visit designed to reaffirm the strong links the Royal Navy warship already enjoys with the North East and her affiliated County of Northumberland.
Last seen on the Tyne in February last year, the 4,800 tonne Type 23 frigate will berth at Northumbria Quay (previously known as Tyne Commission Quay) on Thursday and has an action packed programme during her five day stay, welcoming onboard a number of VIPs and local organisations as well as exercising her Freedom of Entry to the Borough of Castle Morpeth.
