Mar. 28--Thursday turned out to be a fine day for bus driver Keith P. Miller.
He snagged one of the two hybrid buses for his Thursday route.
"It's like sugar in your coffee," he said, then grinned wide and long as he waited for students at the University of Minnesota Duluth's Kirby Plaza.
Last year, the Duluth Transit Authority purchased its first two hybrid buses.
This year, DTA officials intend to buy eight more buses, potentially including several more hybrids. The hybrids are part of a larger effort by city transit officials to use new technology to improve the city's bus system.
