With a population of 39 million and buying power approaching $900 billion, African Americans represent a crucial part of the American consumer economy, according to a new PACKAGED FACTS report, detailing attitudes and behaviors of this distinct segment. Based on CENSUS BUREAU projections, Packaged Facts expects the African-American population to grow to 41.0 million in 2012. Buying power of this group is projected to exceed $1.1 trillion in 2012.
