SAG and AFTRA are moving towards reconcilition and negotiating together on a new feature-primetime contract with Hollywood's major studios.
The move opens the door for the launch of contract negotiations in late March or early April with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers.
The break in the impasse came Tuesday afternoon as SAG's national exec committee agreed to conduct the negotiations with AFTRA under conditions of the 27-year-old Phase One agreement.

That decision came after AFTRA held SAG's feel to the fire for more than a month by threatening to go solo at the negotiations.
