HEALTH watchdogs are to quiz residents about their experiences of an NHS trust being investigated over high death rates.
Patients, their relatives and staff of Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust will be spoken to by the Healthcare Commission as part of the inquiry into high mortality rates at Staffordshire General Hospital, in Stafford, and Cannock Chase Hospital.
A Good Hospital Guide, compiled by Dr Foster Research, published earlier this month, revealed the trust had a 27 per cent higher death rate than the national average.
The baseline for mortality rates in England and Wales is 100 and Staffordshire recorded a figure of 127 ...
