DOUGLAS, for so long the dominant team in EuroManx South Lancs/Cheshire Division Three, were crowned champions with a 27-7 win over Parkonians at Port-e-Chee on Saturday.
The game itself wasn't a classic by any stretch, but the home supporters didn't mind a bit as the Manx side dominated much of the match and came out comfortable winners in the end.
It was the visitors who got off the mark first though after just four minutes. Douglas were slow to adapt to the tricky conditions and Parkonians second row Mike Byrne made the most of it when he raced home under the posts for the opening score.
