Shanghai Telecom to take Wi-Fi hotspots to over 4,000 this year
Shanghai. April 1. INTERFAX-CHINA - Shanghai Telecom, China Telecom's Shanghai branch, will build another 2,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in Shanghai this year, bringing the total number in the city to about 4,100, an official from Shanghai Telecom said today.
"We have been investing in the construction of a wireless broadband network in Shanghai for almost five years. This year we plan to build another 2,000 Wi-Fi hot spots in the city," Wang Qun, the deputy director of Shanghai Telecom's Internet value-added services department, told Interfax at the Wireless China Forum in Shanghai.
