MUMBAI, April 2 Asia Pulse - Indian investors mostly got a raw deal from the stock markets, with as many as 1,000 companies, including the top five IT firms Infosys (BSE:500209), TCS (BSE:532540), Wipro (BSE:507685), Satyam (BSE:500376) and HCL Tech (BSE:532281), collectively losing over Rs 250,000 crore (US$62.53 billion) in market value in 2007-08.
The total market cap of all the listed companies in India, however, rose by about Rs 1,800,000 crore (US$459.2 billion) during the fiscal, counting close to 100 that were listed during the year.
