The mother of a Matlock schoolboy who has leukaemia is fuming after other patients complained about him being allowed in first for hospital blood tests.

Carol Isaacs, from Crich, takes son Connor to Ripley Hospital for blood tests every few weeks and arrives in time for its 7.30am opening to make sure he can catch the bus to Highfields School.

Last week husband Martin was told complaints had been made about the youngster going first and from now on he would wait like everyone else.

Carol, of Coast Hill, said: "I can't believe people have complained and the hospital haven't turned around and said we'll let him through, he's only a child."
