A SECOND community centre in South Tyneside has found itself on the brink of financial collapse.

The Charles Young Centre in Talbot Road, South Shields, could close unless it boosts its dwindling membership.

Bosses at the centre have now made an urgent appeal for help after membership numbers reached an all-time low, and funding began to dry up.

It's the second community group to fall into difficulties in a matter of months, after the West Harton Churches Action Station in Boldon Lane, South Shields, announced similar problems earlier this year.
