Yesterday the Chronicle reported how a Newcastle University team had created part-human, part-animal hybrid embryos for the first time in the UK as part of medical research into a range of illnesses. LABOUR'S Newcastle Central MP Jim Cousins says the project was a "a significant piece of practical research" in the fight to discover better ways of treating serious illnesses.
