European Commission calls on Hungary to change law on R&D tax incentives

BUDAPEST. APRIL 3. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - The European Commission formally requested Hungary on Thursday to change its tax law provisions which limit the granting of a tax incentive to taxpayers who engage in research or development (R&D) activities in Hungary, the EC said in a statement.

"The provisions are incompatible with the freedom to provide services as guaranteed by [the EC Treaty]," the Commission said.
