BUDAPEST. APRIL 3. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - FOOD: Univer to Return Production from Romania - Hungarian food maker Univer Product (UP) Zrt is to launch a HUF 2.7 bln investment to build a new plant in central Hungary's Kecskemet. The project is intended to accommodate production capacities currently sited in Romania, which would consequently be returned to Hungary.
UP CEO Karoly Molitorisz said that with Romania's EU accession, there is no need to localize production to avoid customs. Furthermore, Romanian wages have increased by 20% over recent years, while in Hungary the corresponding amount was ...
