ROYALTY and members of high society were in the county today to honour the memory of the Duke of Buccleuch.
The duke, Britain's largest private landowner and cousin of the Queen, died at the age of 83 on September 4 last year. His life will be celebrated by staff from Boughton House, which he owned, alongside dignitaries at a memorial service at Kettering Parish Church today.
Among the guests will be the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, his son, now the 10th Duke of Buccleuch, his widow Jane Duchess of Buccleuch and the Bishop of Peterborough.
